Aren't they beautiful? A red lip never dates, Brick reds, orange tones and vampy burgundy's - you name it, I probably own it. Much to the disdain of my boyfriend who hates my lipstick kisses. I've exhausted the drugstore in my quest to find the perfect, wearable shade that lasts without drying out my lips - so you know these are good. Today, I decided to showcase some of my favourite, affordable classic reds in honour of Valentine's Day. Worried about what's wearable? You can find out which shades work best with your skin tone you at No7s Match Made service.

The key to the perfect nine-to-five red lip is to choose a long-lasting matte finish - see above - and apply to exfoliated and product free lips. To protect against fading, I always try and use a matching liquid lipstick or liner as a base before filling in the colour. If you're using a glossier or more moisturising finish, like the No7 Match Made Moisture Drench Lipstick in Soft Cherry*, this will also help prevent bleeding. Lastly, to avoid transfer onto my morning coffee mug I'll blot my lips with tissue - or occasionally a post-it if I'm really pressed for time. Lastly, I own it. Red is a confidence colour and looks fabulous on just about everyone.

What affordable/drugstore lipsticks have you been wearing lately? Let me know in the comments!
