CelluBlue | The Anti-Cellulite Cup Review
Today on the blog we're talking cellulite. According to some hastily googled numbers, 90% of women have cellulite. It's completely natural and absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Mine is situated on my hips, left over from a teenage growth spurt. It's faint, white like a scar, and probably almost invisible to anyone who is not me.
Whilst its presence doesn't actively both me, I don't feel the need to cover it up or the wish to never wear a bikini again, when CelluBlue - now available in the UK - got in touch asking if I wanted to trial one of their fabled blue cups I jumped at the chance to see if something millions of women are hung up over could be removed in as little as 21 days. C'mon CelluBue, the Anti-Cellulite Cup*, let's see what you're made of.
The process is simple, and explained in a series of handy diagrams over on the CelluBlue website. But the basic principles are this: rub a few drops of your favourite body oil over your skin - I'm using Grinif's Rawganic Jojoba Golden Oil* (available on eBay), for reference - and massage the cup bottom to top on the affected area for 5 minutes daily.
Is it painful? No.
The cup causes a slight suction but there is no pain. It's kind of like getting a firm massage. Although I did manage to anger a blood vessle by accidentally rubbing the cup from top to bottom (instead of bottom to top) whilst I was on autopilot. But not to worry, it disappeared within a couple of days.
Is it awkward? Sort of.
Because of the location of my cellulite, my "cupping" process was a little awkward, you can read more about how it works here. I found the best method was to lie on my bed in a nightshirt before bed and massage the cup over my hip, leaving me free to start watching the latest series of Orange is the New Black for 10 minutes every night. Total chore - am I right?
Does it work?
Definitely. I could notice my marks almost imperceptibly fading after as little as 4 days out of a recommended use of 21. But before you rush out and purchase your very own please bear in mind that my marks were faint the begin with - so much so I couldn't get a good enough picture - and I was using one of my favourite body oils to accompany the process - Grinif's Rawganic Jojoba Golden Oil* (available on eBay) which is packed with skin-loving ingredients.
Whilst I can't see it working miracles for those uffereing from moderate or extreme cases, I would definitely recommend the CelluBue Anti-Cellulite Cup* to anyone who is suffering from mild cellulite and wants an extra little boost of confidence when donning a bikini this summer.
