Beauty | Sanctum Soho Rose Slouch Travel Bag

Sanctum Soho Dan Gold Rose Slouch Travel Makeup Cosmetic Bag Gold Rose Pink London’s First Rock N Roll Hotel
Sanctum Soho Dan Gold Rose Slouch Travel Makeup Cosmetic Bag Gold Rose Pink London’s First Rock N Roll Hotel

Finally, someone has made a cosmetic bag that will actually fit my cosmetics! A tall feat for a beauty blogger no doubt. This Sanctum Soho Rose Slouch Travel Bag* designed tattoo artist Dan Gold by features a bold pink textured snake print and rose gold hardware. Not only is it eye catchingly beautiful but it has just the right touch edginess that makes it's pink exterior bearable for a former tomboy.

Being a student, I can't tell you the amount of cross country train miles I've collected over the past three years and it's now, only as I'm leaving that I find something capable of holding the usual suspects (aka my makeup bag) as well as micellar water, moisturiser, night cream, facial oils and deodorant. Yeah, it really is that big.

Haircare | AirMotion Pro Hair Brush

AirMotion Pro Hair Brush

Considering I frequently dye my hair, I'm pretty careless when it comes to its aftercare. I'm all about the quick fixes and the solution that take seconds so swapping out my usually Tangle Teezer for a brush that promises to reduce the strain on my hair, make pulling and tangling history and smooth and straighten seemed like a dream come true from the AirMotion Pro Brush*.

I loved the fact that this brush has a handle, a basic I know, but it was a luxury I'd been missing with my Tangle Teezer, and the rubber grip makes it really easy to tackle those unruly hair days and is great for combing conditioner through in the shower. At a similar price tag, I was expecting pretty similar results, like the way it glided rather than grated against my hair, casing less "ouchies!" and more "oohs!" in the bathroom mirror. The AirMotion Pro Brush* definitely left everything feeling a little more sleek and put together  too, with my lacking hair routine. Though, having hair like mine, I can't really comment whether it straightened it as that is sometimes a feat for even the hottest of irons!

After using it for a month or so I did notice that I was being a lot gentler on my hair in the mornings, and definitely had fewer split ends with regular trims and the use of  a hair mask - this definitely gets an A+ from me.

Jewellery | Serotonin Necklace: Carry a Piece of Happiness

I cannot explain just how much I flipped out when I found this necklace online as it appeals to various faucets of my personality: the jewellery hoarder and the psychology nerd.

For those of you lacking the neurochemical knowhow, this is the chemical structure of serotonin, a mood balancing chemical present in the bloodstream, commonly associated with the feeling of happiness. So, by wearing this necklace it's like carrying around a tiny reminder that you create your own happiness, with you.

They also come in dopamine and noradenaline too.

Fashion | Elle Backless Bandage Bodycon Dress by Style Me Celeb

How killer is this Elle Backless Bandage Bodycon Dress* by Style Me CelebWorn here over a lace bandeau to keep everything PCIf you're looking for something incredibly sexy that sucks everything in by fitting like a glove and giving you curves where you never knew you had them before! It's incredible!

The only complaint I have is in the cleavage department, it's definitely designed to be bra-less for those whom are a little more 'gifted' in that region. In my case, it reveals a little - okay a lot - more than I was comfortable showing to the internet, camera, mirror, housemate (my #1 dress approver) or anyone for that matter. But I think the lace adds a stunning vintage feel that gives the outfit an added touch of elegance.

Got dress envy? You can check out their London-based boutique here or, you know, take comfort in the fact I was wearing striped PJs and pink fluffy slippers just out of shot (no, really).

Makeup Revolution | Lip Hugs + Swatches

Makeup Revolution Lip Hugs Too Faced Dupes Nude Not Giving Up Peach Still Missing My Baby Burgundy Wine Red
Makeup Revolution Lip Hugs Too Faced Dupes Nude Not Giving Up Peach Still Missing My Baby Burgundy Wine Red 1

When Makeup Revolution launched their Lip Hugs line, there was major beauty blogger hype (actually, when Makeup Revolution launch anything there is major beauty blogger hype). But it took me a lot blog hopping and more than a little convincing as to just how these weren't just another lipstick, before I joined the masses last month with my purchase of a wine (Still Missing my Baby) and a nude (Not Giving Up).

As an obvious dupe, in style and in finish, for the Too Faced La Creme Colour Drenched Lip Creme (£18) but for their budget price ticket lack the expensive looking exterior and instead opt for the same shiny black plastic as most of the Makeup Revolution range. At least you won't get overly attached when you throw them in your makeup bag...

P.S. Love Your Skin | Oil Balancing Face Scrub

When Primark Launched their makeup range, I was excited, but not there expanding it's almost nail biting. In the past few years in the beauty world we've seen the likes of MUA and Makeup Revolution soar to makeup fame with their low budget and good quality makeup. And, whilst we're on the topic I can't wait to get my hands on one of their new lip liners or foundation sticks as soon as I can! So watch out for those reviews...

Whilst their makeup was the buzz of the bloggersphere, I have heard absolutely nothing about their skincare line - so much so that I was positively shocked, and more than a little hesitant about purchasing something after years of bad breakouts from budget blemish busters. But in the spirit of blogging, I tried. Not wanting to compromise my near perfect skin routine (Read: seven years of hard work in the making) I picked a couple of products that would fit in nicely, without compromising my normal routine, one of which was a good exfoliator. Which is something I used to love back when I was fifteen but haven't really thought much of until my skin took a turn for the worst about eight months ago - and I'm only just getting it back on track! Possible TMI: exfoliator is great if you suffer from tiny under the skin spots like me!

Fashion | Matching Monochrome with Pattern

It's officially spring here in the UK and my wardrobe, well, my wardrobe pretty much reflects that which it does every season: monochrome. But this year I've been daring enough to venture out into some pretty daring patterns to save myself from feeling like an incredibly dull individual/like I'm heading to a convent.

I know I've spoken about using texture before as a way to add interest to your outfit, much like layering it allows even the most dullest of dull items to look lively and cleverly put together, which is good news for us die-hard monochrome fans.

Life | Spring Cleaning

I'll admit, I'm a convert. Down with hoarding, spring cleaning is the best. I'm just on of those people who has to have everything for any eventuality. Like, what if I urgently needed a pair of scissors and have lost my first to or can't find the bag that matches my outfit just right. It's why I always over-pack for just about everything.

Beauty | MAC Lady Danger Dupe // KIKO Orange Red [605]

MAC Lady Danger Dupe KIKO Orange Red 605 Matte Lipstick

In last week's KIKO post I raved about their Velvet Matte Satin Lipstick in Orange Red [605] which, for half of the price is a dead ringer for MAC's Lady Danger as both are highly pigmented orange-based reds with a matte finish.

Hungry for more MAC dupes? Have a read of the £5 dupe for MAC's Russian Red [Matte] or the £6.50 duper for MAC's Rebel [Satin].

Life | What I've Been Watching

In an effort to procrastinate (or at least lighten) all things degree, I've been heading off for some quality time with my television. A past time I haven't taken part in since discovering Youtube back in 2008. From Charmed to Jump Street, here's what I've been watching lately.

Beauty | Lipstick Loving & Makeup Storage

Current Makeup Storage: I've found having a train case is a small miracle - it allows me to keep my regular collection organised, it takes seconds to find products on a sleep-deprived morning and it's great for transportation. But lately I'm constantly reaching for the same old products and ignoring the lipsticks that lurk underneath in the second layer, so it was time for a complete re-haul.

Food | The Pulled Pork Melt + Green & Mint Tea

BBQ pulled pork has become my most recent obsession and The Dancing Goat over in Hull offers it smothered with cheese and served with nachos and coleslaw which - minus the coleslaw pour moi - is absolute heaven and definitely something I'm going to use to spice up my usual slow cooked pork rolls at home. To see a food blog over here is a rarity. But recently I've found myself getting excited by the tantilising tastes life has to offer, and more over healthy food in general (though really not in this case...).

The little trip also introduced me to the most wondrously refreshing drink - chilled green tea with mint. You should know by now I'm a massive green tea addict and although I often dink it at room temperature, I've never tried it with ice. I cannot wait to DIY myself complete with sprigs of fresh mint and the heart-shaped ice cubes that are currently chilling in the freezer.

All in all it was the perfect post-coffee and pre-lecture pick me up with two of my favourite blogging pals - Hannah and Jenni.

Lailly | 7 Seconds Makeup Booster

Lailly 7 Seconds Makeup Booster Whitening Anti-Wrinkle Face Moisturising

After getting Lailly's 7 Seconds Make-up Booster* in my Superbox #48 Daily Dose of Beauty Meme Box* at the end of last year, I did what I usually do and hid it away in a cupboard for 4 months. Which was a huge mistake.

Now, I apply it generously after my moisturiser as part of my everyday regime to calm redness and ease my makeup application, just like it says on the tin. It's great for reviving tired, dry and dull skin and is perfect for those bad skin days when you don't have time to faff about applying, fixing or attempting to re-apply your base - it happens to the best of us.

And, after a few days I noticed a huge difference in the softness and texture of my skin (when used in conjunction with my current skincare routine: a Cleansing Charcoal Sponge, regular Lush's Catastrophe Cosmetics Face Masks, a daily application of Witch Pore Minimising Gel Wash and Simple Kind to Skin Replenishing Rich Moisturiser).

KIKO Velvet Matte Lipsticks Review Swatch 605 Orange Red 613 Pink Carnation 1

February marked a new love affair with KIKO's free shipping. Naturally, the beauty blogger inside wanted one of everything, in every shade possible and most of all to get my hands on one of their Velvet Matte Satin Lipsticks. So much so that after two excessive orders I am off to visit the store today to purchase, yet again. Yes, they are really that good.

Derma V10 | Cocoa Butter

Today's blog post is short, and sweet just like the product: Hands down, Derma V10s Cocoa Body Butter* has to be my favourite ever moisturiser, and quite possibly my favourite bargain beauty buy to boot. It's rich and creamy, sinks into the skin beautifully and smells just like chocolate.

P.S. Love... | Brow Kit

After seeing a few well known 'tubers use the Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay on their brows, I admit, I was tempted by the idea. It's not that I've never used shadow on my brows before, I have (See: Playing with New Products), it's just that I've never used anything that light before. I don't know if I've been inspired by the recent trend of the nineties supermodel no-makeup makeup (Read: Kylie Jenner), but I've really cut down on a) what I use on my face and b) its full on finish. Which is incredibly refreshing and why my blog has been severely lacking in the FOTD department lately!
