OOTD | She's Electric: Checked Blazer

If you're a regular reader, you'll know I'm a student living away from home and I just headed back to university for my final term and with me came a selection of my wardrobe...

Reasons why having two wardrobes is a stupid idea:
I forgot this killer checked vintage blazer, like I do many of my clothes...
Causing me to spend hours looking for them...
And eventually calling my Mum...
This is such a problem that it take up four lines.
Moving between them is a pain in the butt.
Freak days of sunny weather in the winter months stump me.
Collecting them together some day will result looking like a bomb's one off in my room.

Reasons why having two wardrobes is great:
More space.
Can split into seasonal wardrobes (I would like to say there's no use for those pesky jumper during August, but get real, I live in the UK).

Can you think of any more?

Beauty | Best of the Discount Codes

I don't know about you, but I have some serious States envy when it comes to coupons, sales and all other things that afford cut price beauty (because that just means you can buy more, right?). So to save you the job of trawling and save me from my dissertation, here are the best beauty codes - aside from my beloved student discount - that I've found this month. Can anyone say new blog series?

Education | Wordly Wisdom

135 days. That's how many I have left in formal education - notice the formal - I am told that you never stop learning - and after ten and a half years of playing with lego, playing on photoshop and now playing with plastic brains, I think I know a thing or two. Here's my very own wordly wisdom about education:

Beauty Tip | How to Apply Creme Blush Sticks

Here's a quick beauty tip if you're struggling to apply creme or liquid brushes.

These Makeup Revolution The One Blush Sticks (Matte Rush*) are extremely pigmented and if you were to apply them straight to your face can sometimes look a little like war-paint! Instead, take a stippling blush like this Stippling Brush from Real Techniques (excuse how dirty it is!), I also really like using the Primark Stippling Brush, and dab this directly onto the creme - making sure to cover the brush evenly. Then, use a light hand to dab delicately across your cheeks and you're done!

Brows | YOSO Trim

For a strong brow game, the Yoso Trim* is an absolute essential to extend the time between salon visits and keep those unruly brows in check. It can be used to completely remove those annoying little light hairs above the brow - no more painful waxes! - as well as to trim the existing brows using it's handy head attachment. And whilst I can vouch for that first one, I daren't attempt the latter just yet!

The packaging is both stylish and fits right into your makeup bag with it's sleek gold finish. It's the beauty essential that I never knew I needed but now that I have it? I can't imagine my makeup bag without one! You can purchase yours here over at Beauty Crowd.

What are your brow essentials?

Dupe | MAC Amberlights // MUA Copper Eyeshadow

Swatches: MAC Amberlights left, MUA Copper right.

MAC Amberlights is probably one of my favourite ever shadows - it's gold and glamorous and pairs perfectly with a red lip and some winged eyeliner. When I found out about MUA's Copper - a well known dupe I knew I just had to try it! Astonishingly, it was even harder to come across than the MAC shadow - my nearest MAC counter is a forty minute drive - but after literal months of searching my nearest MUA stands, I finally found it. And then another. And then another (life!).

DIY | Crayons to Lipstick?

If you're into beauty and haven't seen this little DIY that's been floating around the internet - you're simply not Pinteresting hard enough. Believe it or not, the title is true and here's a really easy way to turn your crayons into a completely safe lipstick or tinted balm - with some adjustments meaning you won't have to scrub hot wax from your favouite glass bowl - bonus - but you may look slightly like you're part of some kind of drug cartel. So please, make sure you tell whoever you live with beforehand!

Beauty | Base Products for Pale, Oily Skin

Face Base Products Foundation Concealer Full Coverage Primer Dewy Oily

SEVENTEEN SKIN WOW! 3 WAY HIGHLIGHTER
I purchased this product way back in the summer with little intention of ever using it anywhere other than my cheekbones. It then proceeded to sit in my drawer for several months (the apparent solution for a broken pump) until I dug it out a couple of weeks back after seeing everyone rave about the L'Oreal Magique Primer which does - as far as I can tell - the exact same thing for a higher price tag. So it was off to prove a dupe and to attempt a dewy finish on my oily skin - a previous nightmare.

Life | The Bucket List: 2015

I know, I know - it's a bit late for New Year's Resolutions being February and all but I couldn't help thinking about how different my life will be in just shy of a year's time. I won't be living with my flatmates, I won't be a student, I'll have gone from having three jobs to one (hopefully?). So here's some of the things I want to accomplish.

Makeup Revolution | Iconic Pro Palette + Swatches // Lorac Pro Dupe

Check out Makeup Revolution's newest release - their new Iconic Pro Palette 1* which is a dead ringer for the coveted Lorac Pro (so much so, I almost wish I hadn't bought mine!). With reformulated shadows, a brush - that beauty bloggers won't hate - and a new matte finish to their packaging, Makeup Revolution have seriously shaken up the palettes we have come to love over this past year that include popular Urban Decay Naked and Too Faced Chocolate dupes. Read more for swatches!

Push | Darcy Lipstick

When I was contacted about Push's new Darcy Lipstick* (£13) release a couple of months ago - I was in love. I adore these kind of kooky shades in lipstick ranges and couldn't wait to try it!

Beauty | Top Three Travel Palettes

As January is the month of exams, I've done my fair share of train-hopping between houses, and I'd like to think I'd done it in style with these three travel palettes that can fit right in to anyone's budget and style. Here's mine:

Exam Makeup Priorities: Fast, Blended, Neutral, (0r Procrastination-colour), Fast.

Because who want's to be up unnecessarily early on an exam day? Especially if it's in the morning as I'll have probably lost at least six or so hours sleep fretting and convince myself that morning cramming is a good idea. With that in mind...

After years of trying cleansers and treatments this is the only thing that has a difference to my breakouts. A holy grail product -i f you're on the fence I'd highly recommend a trip to your closest Boots. I use at night after double cleansing and wake up with beautiful skin.
