Beauty | Revlon Black Cherry
After its release, Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry quickly became a beauty blogger favourite with it's deep berry tones, but it took me a while to join the masses and become a full blown A/W cliché, Red Cup in hand.
Even with my status as a predominantly matte-lipped kinda girl - especially during A/W - I have to say that the slight sheen and moisturising formula has won a special place in my heart. Whilst it's not the most long lasting, it holds its own and can last through a good few hours and a careful coffee before you need to reapply, atop a strong berry lip liner, naturally. Just beware of a little transfer here and there (totally managed to get it on my keyboard whilst writing this...).
The colour is dark and rich with just the right hints of reds and purples - and dare I say a little brown? In some lights it looks vampy as hell and in others, as in the photos, a more wearable shade that hits somewhere between a fuchsia and a red. For a drugstore lipstick - the entire line is really worth checking out with its luxurious packaging, range of finished and even a Russian Red dupe among the mattes, I only wish they'd expand the range of shades within each finish.
