Skincare | Kiehl’s Festival Skincare Survival Kit
With my last ever pieces of coursework in and just a dissertation and a few exams to go, I have to say I am looking forward to the summer of carefree plans and enjoying a well-deserved break/panicking about the impending doom of a full time job/attempting not to spend the last of the student loan.
Thankfully, my skincare is one less thing I have to worry about with this Kiehl’s Festival Skincare Survival Kit* and quirky tote designed by Zara Martin is the perfect no fuss companion to any festival you may be trekking to this year. Or, if you’re like me and prefer the quieter life – glamping set up and medieval feast. Oh yes, that’s happening. The kit comes with all the skincare staples that are light weight, effortless and designed to perk up your skin amongst all that mud and rain - it is the UK. Everything’s in miniature and comes in its own little pouch that’s easy to reserve for your travels rather than hurriedly run around attempting to pack last minute.
Though there isn’t much need for the sunscreen just yet (read: aforementioned UK), I have been enjoying the use of the kit with my everyday makeup instead of the glittery extremes and multi-coloured war paint you see plastered across the crowd at Glastonbury each year. I must say the Micro Blur Skin Perfector – think Benefit Porefessional in Colour and L’oreal Mattifying Primer in consistency – has to be my favourite as it lies somewhere between a silicone based primer and a tinted moisturiser that evens the texture of your skin. Add a few drops of concealer and you have the perfect effortless base.
The Skincare Rescuer spritzer also rates pretty highly in my books as it’s both nifty and swift and promises will protect my skin from external stressors which, at a festival means pretty much anything! The Ultra facial Cleanser also gets a thumbs up from me for its creamy lather that removes every trace of makeup without drying out the face. In fact, as a self-confessed body lotion/hand cream/moisturiser addict, the only thing I feel that is lacking in this kit is the pocket-sized Crème de Corps moisturiser that may be used on both the body and face that leaves skin leaving it nourished without feeling heavy. But I suppose including a deluxe sample size SPF is a little more important, if it’s sunny this year, we hope…
