Beauty | New Drugstore Makeup Haul & Review
I was so good for so long until my recent drugstore splurge, but there seems to be a lot of new releases cropping up on the shelves of Boots lately. A few Youtube TV Playlists later and, well, here we are...
L'Oreal Infallible 24H Mattifying Foundation
As the new foundation on the block, I had to get my hands on this as every beauty blogger and their cat is currently testing it out. First the coverage is amazing with a liquid to almost powdery finish, I've found myself reaching for my concealer and my powder a lot, lot less. But it's definitely not something for my dry skin days as it can (and will) pick up every flaw. Moisturise well and always use a primer!
Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
After last year's fling with Rimmel's Lasting Perfection Foundation I knew I had to try the higher coverage 25 Hour Foundation from the same line after it promised a 'comfort serum' for my odd oily/dry/combination skin. I can only liken it to the feel of an in-built primer that helps to give the appearance of smoother skin. It's a great everyday foundation.
Collection Eyes Uncovered Palettes
Collection, whatever you did with these palettes - it's perfect! The eyeshadows are buttery and pigmented and last all day. I just couldn't quite believe they were a few pounds a piece! My favourite is the warm toned Nude Bronze Palette with a shimmery finish, closely followed by the Nude Palette featuring *almost* matte shades with a tiny hint of shimmer. The only reason I rate the Nude Grey Palette less is the fact that I'm a warm toned girl at heart as these shadows are incredible.
Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer in Rock On World
I have an upcoming blog post on this golden guy, I now own 3/4 of the range that are infamous MAC Mineralized Skin Finish dupes and I just can't wait for the warmer months to dust a little of this on my cheekbones for that golden glow.
Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Chocolate Suede
Locating this new(ish) release made me all kinds of crazy, I couldn't find it stocked online and there was no space for it in the display in the shops but I could see people getting their hands on it over on twitter and instagram! It wasn't until I meticulously combed through every Maybelline stand in Hull that I manage to find one all alone in the back. I am a huge advocate of cream eyeshadow, especially the Colour Tattoo range, as their's quick, easy, last all day and make great primers. This is very similar in finish to On and On Bronze, just a touch cooler and darker which makes it perfect for that neutral smokey eye.
Mia Generation II Long Lasting Lipgloss in 26
Read: liquid lipstick. I have raved about these guys before and I will probably continue to do so until I own all the shades. After swatching it this afternoon, six hours and a lot of scrubbing later and there's barely a dent in the mark on my wrist. In the past month or so these budget matte's have become the talk of instagram, with half of the beauty world boycotting Limecrime, and for a very good reason. The shade 26 is unlike the vampy reds or nudes that I've been drawn to before and is a brilliant Velvet Teddy-esque brown based pink. You know that look everyone's been going for? Well, this is it in a bottle.
