Pearlescent and metallic lipsticks are a must this Autumn, they draw all the attention to your pout and are chic enough to pull out for the party season as well as safe enough for the office on Monday morning. The trend is very reminiscent of nineties glam - as are all things fashion, beauty and other at the moment - and remind me of the lipsticks my Mum used to let me play around with whilst I was still in the single digits.

I've had my eye on Topshop's Lips in Armour (£8) for a whilst now, but after purchasing it last week I just couldn't shake the feeling that I'd seen this shade before, and I had - almost - in MUA's Lipstick in Shade 9 (£1), my beloved nudey transition shade I purchased last Autumn. In the bullet they look almost imperceptibly similar, but as you can see from the swatches Topshop's creamy formula has a higher rouge colour payoff.

For just a pound, MUA's Shade 9 is a great way of getting the look without the splurge but if you're looking for a party-proof look this season I highly recommend using Topshop's Lips in Armour atop a Kylie Jenner-esque or red lip liner for the ultimate personalised shade.

How to Wear: Pair with a matte, well contoured face for maximum impact.
