Beauty | B. Stunning Vibrant Eye Shimmer [MAC Paint Pot Dupe]
Looking for a MAC Paint Pot dupe? Or maybe you're obsessed with the Maybelline Colour Tattoos? The B. Stunning Vibrant Eye Shimmer range has the capability to just about subdue our Brit's lust MAC Paint Pots and envy over the States range of Maybelline Colour Tattoos. And best of all they're all currently half price - that's £3.49 - over at Superdrug.
The B. Simply is a counter that I don't venture too much as it's not a common Superdrug counter and as far as reviews go, I've heard very little. So, I took one for the team and ventured into beauty blogger territory unknown whilst at the Yum Food Festival in Hull last week
// Lizzie 192 //
Lizzie is a very pale nude and reminds me a lot of MAC's famous Painterly Paint Pot, save for a little golden shimmer. It can be worn alone to brighten the eye or conceal veins and it can also be used as a creamy eyeshadow base.
When I'm not doing bloggy of fun things and don't require a full face of makeup, I have found myself reaching for this over and over again blending it across the lid up to the brow bone and finishing off with a little Naked Limit, Nooner [Naked 3 Palette] or Naked 2 [Naked Basics] to define my crease for an effortless no makeup look that's acheievable in under a minute.
// Copper 057 //
I am a metallic fanatic, so naturally this bright and vibrant Copper shade was the first I picked up, if only to save myself from splurging on MAC's Rubenesque Paint Pot of which this appears to be a very good dupe (it applies a lot more golden in the swatch below than in the pot!). The colour is very multidimensional with a bright copper base and smidge of dark brown all paired with and silver shimmer.
I wear this applied all over the lid with a little Half Baked [Naked 1] in the inner corner and smoked out with a little Blackheart [Naked 3].
// Bittersweet 064 //
Admittedly, there is only a sliver of difference between the shades Copper and Bittersweet in the pot, but as you can see from the swatches below, when applied to the eyes Bittersweet remains true to colour and blends into a warm and golden brown with a hint of gold shimmer. It can be used lightly all over the lid or to smoke out the outer corner.
This has to be one of my favourite eyeshadow shades to date, I simply love the colour and I think it would work really well as a base or addition to MAC's Veluxe Pearl Eyeshadows in Mythical and Coppering for the A/W season.
// The Verdict //
If you're looking not to break the bank or have bought every Maybelline Colour Tattoo and are left wanting more then I definitely recommend picking up a few colours from the B. Simply Stunning Vibrant Eye Shimmer range at Superdrug whilst they're half price. They're incredibly pigmented! However at their usual price of £6.99 I don't think they're as long lasting or a creamy as the more affordable Maybelline Colour Tattoos and they don't seem to have as wide a range of colours online as they do in store.
So will I be repurchasing? I already have my eye on Poseidon a deep emerald green and Dusk Til Dawn a shimmery and pale pink and just might have to pick them up before the sale ends.
