Skincare | Updated Routine
Good news! I have finally normalised my crazy oily/dry/whatever the heck it wants to be that day skin using a highly complicated mix of oils, creams and balms - just kidding. Who even has the time for that these days? To normalise my skin and stop it from breaking out, drying out and generally getting me in a terrible mood before I have left the house, I use precisely two products:
DAYTIME: Heal Gel Face*
I was a little skeptical about this at first - I have used my fair share of moisturisers and found them to be little variation - sure some are more nourishing and tend to leave my skin greasy whilst others are fast to absorb and fail to last all day and, in fear of sounding like Goldilocks this one is just right.
I apply a pump of this to my face on a morning after I have washed and cleansed my face, if I've been in the shower I use two as my skin seems a little more thirsty. It absorbs in a matter of seconds, no waiting around for 10 minutes trying to distract myself from how late I'm going to be, and feels light on my skin, leaving it feeling soft and the best bit is it contains SPF so no need to switch it up for summer. I also really like the packaging, it's almost medicinal giving you a straight breakdown of -----------------------------------------.
NIGHTTIME: REN Omega 3 Night Repair Serum
As far as fiddly products go, oil is my worst nightmare - trying to apply it as it slowly tries to escape your fingers. But on the flip side, I tend to adore effortless products that work whilst I'm asleep.
Admittedly, it' not the most pleasantly scented product I've ever tried but REN Omega 3 Night Repair Serum really does do the job of plumping, repairing and hydrating your skin whilst you're asleep, even if it does leave your skin feeling a little greasy and slick after initial application you'll wake up with gorgeously soft glowing skin - sometimes I even skip the moisturiser - it's THAT good. Stick with it just for the night and you'll notice a change in your skin in the morning. Just maybe keep it for when you don't have company!
