DIY Crop Top for £1

I made this a couple of months ago, back when it was scorching and crop tops were just coming back into the shops. My friend came back with this awesome football jersey style crop top but when I saw the price tag I nearly fainted. Shouldn't they be charging LESS for such little material? Apparently not.

In true Charley fashion I scoured the sale sections until I found this t-shirt from Primark. It was currently on the way out so only cost me £1! The best bit about this DIY is all you're going to need is a t-shirt -old or new - and a pair of scissors.

Either measure the top against an existing crop top or put it on and mark with a piece of chalk where you want your crop top to end. You can make it as long or as short as you like, I only cut 2-3 inches from the hem on mine. For the cutting a pair of fabric scissors would be ideal but if not just get as sharp as you can and cut straight across. If you want to be extra precise I recommend measuring using a ruler and drawing a line across as a guide.

Next, all you have to do is stretch the new bottom of your shirt, the fabric should curl upwards, this not only stops it from fraying but also gives it more of a finished look. If you're any good at sewing you could also hem your new shirt.

It's as easy as that! If you make your own crop top, please post your pictures below!
