A Great Natural Snack

I discovered this a while back and have loved it ever since. I find it's great served with yogurt for breakfast or for desert has great health benefits too!

What you're going to need:

A Microwave

The method is dead simple. Chop the banana into even slices and place into a bowl. Drizzle liberally with honey and place in the microwave for 20-30 seconds. This allows the banana to become warm and the honey to melt without the bananas becoming mushy and like baby food.

They're great to eat as part of lunch or before a work-out as they have been shown to noticeably sustain your blood sugar for longer. Plus, they're great at aiding digestion and act as a probiotic. Health benefits of honey: You might think just because it's sickly sweet, honey is not all the good for you. Put quite simply you'd be very wrong. Honey is frequently used in throat lozenges to reduce cough and throat irritation, and this is partially due to its anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, meaning that it's also great for the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders like gastroenteritis and ulcers. Honey has also been linked to the prevention of serious diseases such as cancer and heart disease. A great sweet treat with plentiful benefits.

Serving suggestions: Serve with yogurt for a healthy breakfast snack or ice cream for dessert, you can even wrap them in a pancake or serve the whole thing up on toast or in a sandwich.
